Posts can now have several slides. Meaning, you can upload more content to a single post. If a post has more than one slide you'll see slide navigation buttons at the top-right corner of the post (next to views). Click the arrow pointing to the right to see the next slide of this post.
On mobile the slide navigation buttons are found under the other post buttons.
New post submission has been re-designed for slides. If you want to have just a single slide for the post (like before) only use the first slide boxes. Otherwise just click on the next slides tab and use the boxes below. Title, language and topics are the same for the whole post. Messages, links and images can be different for each slide. There is a maximum of 10 slides per post.
This feature should help you upload more content to a single post and it can also be used in very creative ways.
Some changes have been made to the post views counting algorithm. Views from the post author won't be counted towards the posts total views count. Constantly refreshing the post page to get the views count up won't work. Views from search engines (for example when Googles bots visit our website to index it) won't be counted either - This is the reason why most posts on the website have lost some amount of views. And more.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this update. These changes have been made to make the views count more authentic and harder to fake. Which I think is better for everyone in the long term.
Maximum file upload size has been increased from 2MB to 20MB for post images, user avatars and covers. Now the original image can be viewed from the posts dropdown icon by selecting "View original image". This will open up the original image by itself in a new tab. It can take some time to load as these images can be up to 20MB in size. The version of the original image you see on the website is compressed and resized, so that it would load as fast as possible.
Hopefully this can be useful for many photographers out there that produce high quality photos.
User points is just a fun new feature that doesn't give any real benefits to the user (for now). Points are given for making and receiving certain actions on the website. Here is the list of actions that get you points:
User comments on your post - 5 points
User follows you - 5 points
User reposts your post - 4 points
User upvotes your post (for each upvote) - 2 points
User upvotes your comment on someone elses post (for each upvote) - 2 points
You make a comment ...Read more on someone elses post - 3 points
You repost someone elses post - 2 points
You follow someone else - 2 points
You upvote someone elses post (for each upvote) - 1 point
You upvote someone elses comment (for each upvote) - 1 point
You make a new post - 1 point
Making these actions on your own content does not give you points. If you undo that action (for example unfollow user) points will disappear for both users. User points are displayed next to users name everywhere. Points icon and text change colour depending on the amount of points you have.
from 0 points - orange
10,000 points - green
50,000 points - red
100,000 points - indigo
200,000 points - blue
500,000 points - you'll have to find out for yourself :D
You can now use special codes in "About Me" text area on your profile to enhance your "About Me" page.
These codes currently allow you to add titles, subtitles and images. Just like so:
